

Jean-Louis Ledent has over two decades of experience as a culinary chef, restaurant owner and general manager. He earned his culinary degree from the Ecole d’Hotellerie de Liege in Belgium and taught at the College Saint Francoise d’Assise, a three-year culinary program in Belgium.
Jean-Louis gained national attention with his restaurant, the French Embassy, located in Arcola, IL. This fine dining establishment was the only one of its type to be located in the same building as a bowling alley. After operating this business he proceeded to build success as the owner, general manager, and chef de cuisine of Chef Jean-Louis Restaurant in Urbana, IL.
Chef, as he is often referred to in the Bevier Café, offers great knowledge of culinary and management skills to the students in the Hospitality Management and Dietetics programs, as the Food Service Systems/Quantity Foods Laboratory Manager in the Bevier Café.
